In addition to this, the speaker icon in the Menu Bar will be greyed out if you have this icon enabled and visible. The Focusrite hardware controls all signals going in and coming out. To control the volume level, use the Monitor or headphones control(s) on your interface. Your Mac cannot raise or lower signals when an audio interface is set as the primary device in System Preferences under Sound. It is a reminder that the Mac computer doesn't control the signals coming in and out from audio interfaces. Im able to use the built in volume control keys, as well as an external usb volume control nob to change stream volume heading to the Modi.
